80´s Miami

this is the first part of my blog it will focus on some of the head topics i have regarding the 80´s Miami.

welcome to my blog, this blog is about how i imagine the 80´s Miami.
First of all i was borned in the late 80´s and have therefore no personal experience of how it was to be there. but through mass medias like televisions "miami vice, and other tv-shows that potrait the times." and personal computers "GTA Vice city" i have gotten kind of an idea of how it was.
first of all the things that attracts me the most are the following:

the suits:

The suits of the 80´s was often white or pastel coloured which gave it a "easylike" look, which kind of made you troubles go away by just lookin at em "well atleast thats how i feel"

the songs:
the songs to me was special, i have often driven down the sunset in my car putting a mix cd in the car stereo and pretend i was in Miami, the reason is that the songs get me at another state of mind which i cannot explain, here are some of the tunes i listen to the most:

Foreigner - "Waiting For A Girl Like You"
Kate Bush - "Wow"
Squeeze - "Tempted"
REO Speedwagon - "Keep On Loving You"
Cutting Crew - "(I Just) Died In Your Arms"
Roxy Music - "More Than This"
Toto - "Africa"
Mr. Mister - "Broken Wings"
John Waite - "Missing You"
Jan Hammer - "Crockett's Theme"
Night Ranger - "Sister Christian"
Luther Vandross - "Never Too Much"
Hall & Oates - "Out of Touch"
Wang Chung - "Dance Hall Days"
Michael Jackson - "Billie Jean"
Laura Branigan - "Self Control"
Go West - "Call Me"
INXS - "Kiss the Dirt (Falling Down the Mountain)"
Bryan Adams - "Run to You"
Electric Light Orchestra - "Four Little Diamonds"
Yes - "Owner of a Lonely Heart"
The Buggles - "Video Killed the Radio Star"
Aneka - "Japanese Boy
The Outfield - "Your Love"
Joe Jackson - "Steppin' Out"
The Fixx - "One Thing Leads to Another"
Lionel Richie - "Running With The Night"

The colours:

have you ever felt like the tone a whole era can be described by colours? well i have for example when i think of the 20´s i think of grey because of the film noir films i have seen which gives it kind of a gloomy "feel." as for the 80´s many colours could be used because it was a adversary era of time. but when i think of the 80´s and Miami i always think of pink "every shade" pastel colours and lilac
